Ubisoft will bring back the Might and Magic video game that was previously discontinued in June.

Might & Magic X - Legacy was thought to be dead, but it has made a triumphant comeback after some adjustments.

M&M X – Legacy was accidentally broken by Ubisoft’s DRM servers, which were taken down in May, resulting in the game being forced to be pulled off store shelves. After a few months, and perhaps after some players had long concluded the game was no longer alive, it has returned to life.

In a statement released earlier today, Ubisoft said that the game is now available on both Ubisoft’s own shop and Steam and that anybody who hasn’t already purchased it will be able to get some free DLC as a thank you:

On June 1st, we made the decision to remove Might & Magic X – Legacy from sale following an unexpected issue that occurred after we shut down various services for cosecurity reasons, which prevented players from accessing some parts of the game and its DLCs. Our teams have spent the last few months investigating and testing the different solutions to make sure players’ experience lives up to our standards in terms of quality of service.

Today, we’re happy to announce that all conditions are met to bring the game back to the Ubisoft Store and to Steam, and that new and returning players can now venture into the wide and mysterious world of Ashan again. In addition to the base game, we also took this opportunity to give all fans of Might & Magic X – Legacy the freedom to extend their adventure by accessing the DLC “The Falcon & the Unicorn”, entirely for free.

Originally, the game was rendered unplayable in May, when Ubisoft, in addition to discontinuing online support for a number of even older titles, also took down the DRM servers that verified Might & Magic: Legacy’s authenticity. It meant that users would be unable to access the single-player content or DLC for the game.
