With a little too much hand-holding, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a pleasant, serene game that gives hours of fun. It’s a DIY experience, however, since there are so many ways to play. This game offers a brief relief from the stresses of modern life, and the long wait for its release was well worth it.
On a lonely island paradise, an opportunity has presented itself exactly when you needed it most.
Almost every aspect of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is well-presented in this title. Players may do anything they like with their abandoned island bundle in this basic, easy-to-play life simulator. If you and two other villagers are willing to join Tom Nook on his latest earnings plan, you can expect him to start from the ground up.
All the players arrive on their island equipped with nothing more than their tent to sleep in and the raccoon in charge’s Nook Phone. There is no limit to what you can do. To earn specific objects, you’ll need to clean up the island and meet certain objectives, but there is no overall narrative or storyline to follow. There are several ways to customize your town, such as building your own tools and naming it; you can even pick where the population relocates to. This is your community to shape as a Residential Representative. As a result, you have complete creative control over the final product.
Wonderful visuals and audio effects. The sensation of being in the presence of nature
You can tell right away that using the Nintendo Switch is going to be an immersive experience. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a clean look, despite its lack of “realistic” visuals. In 2013, on the Nintendo 3DS, we last saw Tom Nook and his pals. This improvement was long overdue.
During a storm, the trees tremble in the wind as precipitation drips from their branches. While everything is well defined, it has the cartoon-like fun that we’ve grown to appreciate from this series.
The finest example of better graphics may be found in the museum’s collection. Love everything about this place. Taking a stroll and taking it all in is a lot of pleasure. There are plenty of colorful and beautiful elements that pay homage to the original Animal Crossing aesthetic while bringing it up to date in high definition.
The meditative music that has become synonymous with the show is a perfect accompaniment to the island paradise. When it comes to the tunes you can buy from the shop, K.K. Slider is at his best, but the soundtrack serves as the ideal background noise for getting things done around the house. It’s not going to win any prizes for “exceptional musical composition,” but it does an excellent job at calming your community.
Classic gameplay may be improved and upgraded with in-house adjustments and upgrades.
A typical Animal Crossing game gets you off to a poor start. You’re even empty of the Bell’s presence. This is going to be a difficult ride. A tent, a Nook Phone, and a few other goods are handed to you in exchange for your few possessions, and you’re saddled with a mountain of debt. After then, it’s up to you. Earning bells, enhancing your house, and transforming this unused terrain into something spectacular is all yours. What about Tom Nook? He’s there to provide financial support and to enjoy the rewards.
You’ll have to collect resources and make your own stuff in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, which is a new addition to the main series. As the game advances, you’ll be able to make stronger and better objects out of twigs and other weak materials. If you’re running low on supplies, it may take some time. It takes time to make improvements to your technology. You can only take from your island what it has to offer at any one time. Even if you travel to the “mystery islands” (more on this later), you’re still confined to what’s on the map. “Nook Miles” may be earned by doing chores and building goods and can be used to pay off debt or get unique items from the Residental tent. You may, however, aid Tom Nook and pay off your obligation after you’ve gathered all the items.
There’s much to do even if you don’t play the main game. Take advantage of the abundance of wildlife on your island by engaging in outdoor activities such as insect hunting, fishing, and even fossil hunting. Gardening or planting flowers, picking up shells, and helping out your neighbors are just some of the activities you may participate in on your island.
It’s also possible to utilize the Nook Miles you’ve accrued via easy tasks to take Mystery Tours and visit other islands, where you’ll encounter a wide variety of animals and items. Visiting other people’s islands is always an option, too.
Keep in mind that Nintendo loves to slow things down, so there are plenty of things to do on your island. Attempting to do everything at once may not be possible.
Updates and multiplayer Animal Crossing: New Horizons supports multiplayer, which is a fun way to keep playing. This game makes it simpler to connect with other players than previous ones. A Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required for online multiplayer. Visit a friend’s island and see how things are doing. This is particularly advantageous if you need the island’s products or other resources. You may also go around the stores, buy products that aren’t easily available in your town, and see what they’ve done to the location since you were last there. It’s possible to send letters and presents, as well.

New social events will spring up, new bugs and fish will be discovered, and as your town expands, so will your chances for success. There are constantly fresh and exciting things to discover when playing.

Adventures in New Horizons: Animal Crossing What irritates me Despite its flaws, this game has a lot going for it for me. You don’t have to be an expert to enjoy this game; anybody can take it up and play at their own pace. However, there were a couple of aspects that did not sit well with me. Let’s start with the tiniest of issues.
It takes a long time for the game to get going. Building a community takes time, but you can only do so much in a day. My first goal was to go to the museum as soon as possible. I gathered the specimens required by Tom Nook, chose a location for Blathers’ tent, and then waited. To make matters worse, I had to wait another day for Blathers to show up after which I had to go out and collect specimens for him.
Because of this, I could not leave my island for any length of time. The airport had not yet begun operations. However, after a lengthy wait, I wanted to hammer away at this game as early as possible after finally getting my hands on it. On my first day, I wished I could have progressed more quickly. However, it isn’t limited to the first day. To get access to the whole island, players must take it one step at a time and cannot grind their way up. While it’s possible to go back in time, I preferred to play the game the way it was intended. Whoever wants to avoid all the waiting and go back in time should be commended (I’ve visited some amazing cities this way!).
Some things, on the other hand, might get stale. Since starting with peaches as a present, I’ve gone on many mystery trips in search of fruit and supplies, and each time, I’ve ended myself on an island loaded with… peaches. I’ve discovered onto an island with oranges and bamboo, but other than that, I’ve discovered islands that provide me the same things. Just poor luck, I suppose.
Having pals with the resources I need is always an option, but multiplayer loses its appeal after a while since there isn’t much to do. It’s intentional that Animal Crossing isn’t a game you can play in one sitting. Furthermore, if you so choose, it is possible to circumvent these drawbacks. So, in the grand scheme of things, it’s not that important.
Fish of a larger size Problems with local multiplayer saves Let’s address the proverbial “elephant in the room” now: Save data for Animal Crossing: New Horizons cannot be backed up to the cloud at this time. As a result, things may go horribly wrong in a hurry. I can’t even fathom the anguish I’d feel if my Switch went on the fritz or was stolen after just four days of playing.
Even if it’s not your fault, you won’t be able to restore your data. All of this is being done to thwart cheats, but as previously stated, gamers will still be able to travel through time. It does much more harm than good, even if it does deter some cheats.
The lack of a means for users to get their data back seems weird, but Nintendo says it will include a solution in the future. There is currently no timetable for this.
Meaning everyone else has to wait while you collect museum exhibits, construct the other homes, and do all the exciting things. In other words, the island is “owned” by the principal user. Tom Nook, that’s just not right.
Is it worth playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2021?
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, not only does it live up to the anticipation, but exceeds it. It’s a basic, enjoyable game with a lot of content. In addition, because we have lots of opportunities, now is the ideal moment for an easy-going game like this to reach the market. It’s a game where you may design your own island and play as you want to play. An island of weeds, tents, and flowers was created. It’s all up to you and how you play.
I’m willing to put in the time to develop the island of my dreams in this game. Although it lacks the adrenaline-pumping intensity of some of the more popular games, it does well in its area. It’s a great game to play if you’re looking for a quick distraction.
